Amnesty International has condemned Russia’s practice of recruiting foreign nationals to fight in Ukraine as a form of human trafficking. The report alleges that the Russian military forces coerce, deceive, or forcibly enlist individuals from abroad, violating international law and human rights conventions.

According to the organization, these recruits are often lured with promises of payment, only to find themselves in combat zones with little protection or legal recourse. The allegations highlight systemic abuses that undermine the sovereignty of affected nations and the safety of individuals.

Amnesty calls for immediate accountability, urging international bodies to investigate and hold Russia responsible for these violations. The report underscores the need for transparent recruitment practices and safeguards for vulnerable populations.
