The organization cites a rising trend of arrests that threaten the country’s democratic gains and the protection of civil society.

According to FIDH, the latest wave of detentions follows a pattern of intimidation aimed at silencing dissent and curtailing independent reporting. The group urges the Tunisian government to respect international human rights obligations, including the right to free expression and the protection of those who expose abuses.
